Why choose a Cambodia tour?

Cambodia escorted tours offer a mesmerising mix of ancient wonders and natural beauty. At its heart lies Angkor, the world's largest religious complex, and Tonle Sap Lake, Southeast Asia's largest freshwater lake which is famed for its unique floating villages.

Siem Reap, the lively gateway to Angkor Wat, combines Khmer, French colonial and Chinese-style architecture. The riverside town brims with chic boutiques, tranquil spas and bustling street food stalls offering local delicacies. Phnom Penh showcases Cambodia's history through its grand monuments and poignant landmarks, while Mekong River towns preserve the nation's enduring cultural heritage.

Cambodia features on several of our tours in Indochina, sharing the limelight with Laos and Vietnam. You can cruise the Mekong to lesser-known towns, fly to focus on famed destinations or tour by road and riverboat to explore intriguing treasures.

Thomas, Product Manager here at Jules Verne, explains:
"Exploring Cambodia with a local Jules Verne tour guide offers an experience far beyond the ordinary. It's not just about seeing Angkor Wat or the floating villages – it's about immersing yourself in the stories, traditions and hidden gems that only someone with deep local knowledge can reveal."

What can you expect during our small group tours of Cambodia?

Our small-group escorted tour packages last anywhere between 12 and 21 nights, offering you plenty of opportunity to explore not only Cambodia but its neighbouring countries too.

We keep our small group tours to Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia to between 10-16 people to ensure a more intimate experience for each person. It's an opportunity to get to know your guides, too – their abundance of local knowledge means you'll get to know each country on a deeper level.

Which destinations can you visit on our Cambodia escorted tours?

Though it's just one part of our escorted tours through Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, we firmly believe that a visit to this enchanting country is truly worthwhile. Here are some of the places you can expect to visit during your time there:

Angkor Archaeological Park

Located in the Siem Reap province, the Angkor Archaeological Park is home to the Angkor Wat temple complex. This 'cultural wonder of the world' covers 162 hectares with 900-year-old shrines and temples, laced with intricately carved stonework. Among the sites visited are the three-tiered pyramid of Angkor Wat, crowned by five beehive towers, as well as Angkor Thom's moated gate and the Royal Enclosure with its Elephant Terrace parade. The beautiful Ta Prohm temple is still tangled in the tree roots of the jungle which kept it a secret for so long.

Siem Reap

Siem Reap is the second-largest city in Cambodia with plenty to do aside from the famous Angkor archaeological site. You can visit the Angkor National Museum and dive into the history of the ancient Khmer Kingdom before visiting Senteurs d'Angkor and social enterprise Artisans Angkor to browse handcrafted products and cosmetics.

Phnom Penh

From the National Museum of Cultural History to landmarks such as the 'Silver Pagoda' Buddhist temple near the Royal Palace, there's a variety of stops included in our itineraries in the capital. The Genocide Museum shines a light on the country's more sombre past. It's situated in the former Tuol Sleng Prison, a notorious detention and torture centre operated by the Khmer Rouge regime in the 1970s.

A popular activity with travellers, the Mekong River cruise is a real highlight. Consider our dedicated The Original Mekong Cruise tour to explore more of this part of the world along the waterways.

Tonle Sap Lake

Tonle Sap Lake is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia and a UNESCO-listed Biosphere Reserve. It's characterised by stilt-house 'floating villages', which offer an insight into how local communities have adapted to their environment. You can visit this destination on our Grand Tour of Indochina small group tours to Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.

When is the best time to visit Cambodia?

The key to visiting Cambodia is to avoid the wet season, which lasts from June to October and can wash out days that might have been spent exploring.
Something else to consider is the humidity. April and May can be particularly humid, whereas the period between November and March tends to be a little more comfortable. We aim to run our escorted tours to Cambodia in line with the best seasons to make it as enjoyable as possible.
